Pinguicula agnata, commonly known as the Butterwort, is a carnivorous perennial plant native to Mexico. It features rosettes of smooth, fleshy, green leaves that secrete a sticky substance to trap and digest small insects. This adaptation allows the plant to thrive in nutrient-poor soils. Pinguicula agnata produces charming, funnel-shaped flowers that can range in colour from white to pale purple, typically blooming in the spring and summer. It prefers bright, indirect light and well-draining, slightly acidic to neutral soil. Moderate watering is required to keep the soil moist but not waterlogged. This species is prized for its ease of care and attractive, insect-trapping foliage.
