Collection: Lithops
Lithops are commonly known as living stones or mesembs and are native to southern Africa. Lithops are very drought tolerant and if watered too often, they will rot or the leaves may burst. One indication that the plant needs water is when the leaves become lightly wrinkled. They thrive in well drained, coarse soil mix and in sunny locations. Lithops are active and flower in the autumn when water is needed most. After it blooms, a new set of leaves will emerge and at this stage all watering should stop until the old leaves are dried up.
