In late spring to early summer, Cholla produces vibrant, magenta to pink flowers that are followed by yellow, spiny fruit. It can grow up to 8 feet tall and branches profusely, creating a shrub-like form. Cylindropuntia Imbricata is well-adapted to arid environments, thriving in well-draining soil and full sun. It is a hardy plant that can tolerate temperatures as low as -10°F (-23°C). This cactus is often used in xeriscaping and can add a dramatic, architectural element to desert gardens.
