Lithops Fulviceps f. Aurea
Lithops Fulviceps F. Aurea is cultivated in USA and in Japan. It must be grown in a fast draining mix with little compost and more grit, coarse sand, small lava gravel, pumice, calcined clay or pebbles. Keep plants in small pots as solitary clumps or as colonies in large, shallow terracotta seed pans.
After Flowering - Between autumn and extending through the winter season, the plant will still be growing – the new set of leaves will be increasing in size and emerge from the centre of the plant. During this period, stop watering the plant as it will extract water and nutrients from the outer succulent leaves, allowing them to shrivel away.
Partial or full sun
Allow soil to dry out between waterings or water when the plant starts to wrinkle at the base. When the plant starts to show sign of splitting, stop watering until the outer set of leaves has shrinken.
20% potting mix 80% non organic material (pumice or perlite).
Fish emulsion, kelp solution, worm casting, shrimp compost.
Only fertilize and water more during the growing season (September - November), or when the plant is in bloom.
