Stapelia gigantea, also known as carrion flower, belongs to the milkweed family (not cactus) and is a spine-free succulent. Native to arid desert regions spanning from Tanzania to South Africa, this plant produces flowers with an aroma similar to that of decomposing flesh. The succulent stems grow upright, reaching heights of 8-12 inches, with a diameter of 10-16 inches.
