LIGHT | Full sun to partial shade. Bright light is essential to prevent stretching.
COLD TOLERANCE | -15 ºC (USDA Zone 7-8). Protect from frost to prevent scarring .
WATER | Use "soak and dry" method. Water generously when soil is completely dry. Reduce watering in winter .
SOIL PH | Not critical.
SOIL TYPE | Well-draining, porous succulent mix. Standard potting mix needs added perlite or pumice.
FERTILIZER | Diluted fish emulsion, kelp, or worm castings during spring/summer. Fertilize sparingly.
PROPAGATION | Leaf or stem cuttings. Very easy; leaves root readily on soil.
HUMIDITY | Low. Ensure good air circulation.
ACTIVE SEASON | Spring to early fall (approx. May - Sept in northern climates).
NOTE
INSTRUCTIONS FOR ROOTING CUTTINGS
| 1 | Allow cuttings to dry and callous for 1–2 days before planting. This prevents rot. |
| 2 | Insert cutting into soil. For stem cuttings, bury the end 0.5–1 inch deep. For leaves, simply lay them on top of the soil. |
| 3 | Do not water immediately. Wait 3–5 days before first watering to allow roots to begin forming. |
| 4 | After waiting, water sparingly (just enough to lightly moisten the soil). Keep soil slightly moist — not wet. |
| 5 | Place pot in bright shade (no direct sun) during the rooting period. |
| 6 | Roots should form in 2–3 weeks. You can gently tug on the cutting — resistance means roots have developed. |
| 7 | Once rooted, gradually acclimatize to brighter light or full sun over 5–7 days to prevent leaf burn. |
