Haworthia retusa is native to the Western Cape province of South Africa. This compact succulent is known for its distinctive rosette of fleshy, triangular leaves with translucent tips that allow sunlight to penetrate. The leaves often feature subtle white markings or lines. This low-growing plant thrives in well-draining soil and bright, indirect light, making it ideal for indoor cultivation. It requires minimal watering and, under the right conditions, may produce small, tubular white flowers on tall, slender stalks.
