Insert the cutting 1" deep into the soil. Keep the soil moist during the rooting phase. Once the roots are established, water the plant when the soil is dry. Roots should usually take a couple of weeks to form. Place the plant in a bright, shaded area while it is rooting; afterwards, slowly transition the plant to full sun in order to prevent burning of the leaves.
