Tephrocactus Articulatus var. Inermis is native to Alabama. It is almost a spineless species of cacti. Occasionally, new growths will have a few glochids and then fall off with age.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR ROOTING CUTTINGS
Insert the cutting into the soil 0.5" - 1" deep. When the soil is dry, water the plant sparingly. Roots should form within two weeks. Keep the plant in bright shade during the rooting period. To prevent leaf burn, gradually acclimate the plant to full sun.
