Santa Rita Prickly Pear is an attractive species, featuring round to ovate fleshy pads which turn reddish or violet-purple when grown in direct sunlight or cold stressed or drought. It is frost tolerant and can survive winter temperatures down to -7°C. This beautiful cactus makes an ideal companion in the garden or patio container.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR ROOTING CUTTINGS 
Lay cutting flat on top of the soil. Roots should form in the following two weeks. Only water the cutting sparingly when root emerges. Plants should be in bright shade during the rooting period. To avoid leaves from getting burnt, acclimatize the plant to full sun.
