Native to South East Asia. This is a fast and easy to grow hoya, but needs to be grown in airy soil (not in a soil-less medium). It has attractive shiny green foliage with almost round shaped leaves and many silver flecks. To avoid deformed leaf growth, the plant should be grown in bright light (not direct sunlight) and with high humidity. It has gorgeous ball shaped flowers with a sweet fragrance that's not overpowering.
Bright to shade
Water moderately when soil is dry
50% potting 50% non organic material (pumice, perlite, or orchid barks).
Hoya obovata is toxic to cats and dogs • Leaves deform when it's too bright or not enough humidity.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR ROOTING CUTTINGS
Insert cutting into the soil (1" - 2" deep). When soil is dry, water the plant sparingly. Roots should form in the following two weeks. Plants should be in bright shade during the rooting period. Cuttings root best in vermiculite.
