Disocactus Flagelliformis, or Rat Tail Cactus, is native of Southwestern Mexico and some parts of Central America. It is identifiable due to its long, cascading stems that can reach up to 4 ft. when mature. This cactus blooms in spring and early summer, and in the wild can be found living as either a lithophyte or an epiphyte, meaning it can thrive on rocks or larger structures such as trees. As a result of its trailing stems, this cactus is ideal for cultivating in hanging baskets.
