Crystal Soil

Crystal soil, also known as water beads or water gel beads, is a water-absorbing polymer that expands when soaked in water, creating hydrated, gel-like beads. These beads are often used for decorative purposes in vases or terrariums, but they also serve functional roles in improving soil hydration for houseplants.

Crystal soil is capable of absorbing and retaining large amounts of water relative to its size, slowly releasing moisture to plant roots as needed. It comes in a variety of colours and sizes, making it an aesthetically pleasing medium for growing plants or adding a visual element to home decor. While commonly used for plants with low water requirements, crystal soil is not a standalone substitute for soil in traditional gardening but works well in combination with soil to improve water retention.
