Mammillaria Elongata Cristata is also known as a Brain Cactus due to its convoluted and sinuous growth that resembles a brain. It happened through mutation or damage to the apical meristem (centre of growth). This species grows quite slowly and needs mineral soil with little organic matter (peat, humus).

INSTRUCTIONS FOR ROOTING CUTTINGS
Insert cutting into the soil (1" deep). When soil is dry, water the plant sparingly. Roots should form in the following 2 - 6 weeks (Cuttings will take root in a minimum temperature of 20° C). Plants should be in bright shade during the rooting period. To avoid the plant from getting burnt, acclimatize them to full sun.
